Text

(1)A degree-granting institution has a board of trustees that may act on behalf of the degree-granting institution in performing duties, responsibilities, and functions as may be specifically authorized to the board of trustees by the board or by statute.
(2)A board of trustees of a degree-granting institution has the following powers and duties:
(2)(a) to facilitate communication between the degree-granting institution and the community;
(2)(b) to assist in planning, implementing, and executing fund raising and development projects aimed at supplementing institutional appropriations;
(2)(c) to perpetuate and strengthen alumni and community identification with the degree-granting institution's tradition and goals;
(2)(d) to select recipients of honorary degrees; and
