§ 53H-13-406 — Cooperative education program -- Liability and risk management.
(1)(1)(a) The Utah System of Higher Education and participating institutions are not liable for any act, omission, or conduct of cooperative education employees or cooperative education employers.
(1)(b) A cooperative education employer shall indemnify and hold harmless all participating institutions against claims arising from co-op placements.
(2)The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education shall:
(2)(a) establish procedures for:
(2)(a)(i) program administration;
(2)(a)(ii) risk management;
(2)(a)(iii) issue resolution; and
(2)(a)(iv) early termination protocols; and
(2)(b) develop policies regarding:
(2)(b)(i) liability coverage;
(2)(b)(ii) workplace safety;
(2)(b)(iii) co-op performance standards; and
(2)(b)(iv) professional conduct requirements for a cooperative education empl
