§ 53G-6-206 — Duties of a local school board, charter school governing board, or school district in promoting regular attendance -- Parental involvement -- Liability not imposed -- Report to state board.

(1)(1)(a) As used in this section, "intervention" means a series of non-punitive and increasingly frequent and individualized activities that are designed to:
(1)(a)(i) create a trusting relationship between teachers, students, and parents;
(1)(a)(ii) improve attendance;
(1)(a)(iii) improve academic outcomes; and
(1)(a)(iv) reduce negative behavior referrals.
(1)(b) "Intervention" includes:
(1)(b)(i) mentorship programs;
(1)(b)(ii) family connection to community resources;
(1)(b)(iii) academic support through small group or individualized tutoring or similar methods; and
(1)(b)(iv) teaching executive function skills, including:
(1)(b)(iv)(A) planning;
(1)(b)(iv)(B) goal setting;
(1)(b)(iv)(C) understanding and following multi-step directions; and
(1)(b)(iv)(D) self-regulation.
