Text

(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) "Cohort" means a group of students, defined by the year in which the group enters grade 9.
(1)(b) "Eligible LEA" means an LEA that has demonstrated to the state board that the LEA or, for a school district, a school within the LEA, provides and facilitates personalized, competency-based learning that:
(1)(b)(i) is based on the principles described in Section 53F-5-501; and
(1)(b)(ii) meets other criteria established by the state board in rule made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act.
(1)(c) "Eligible student" means an individual who:
(1)(c)(i) attended an eligible LEA and graduated by completing graduation requirements, as described in Section 53E-4-204, earlier than that individual's cohort completed graduation r
