Utah Code Ann. § 53F-2-415 (2026).

Text

(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) "Behavioral health support personnel" means an individual who:
(1)(a)(i) works under the direct supervision of qualifying personnel to:
(1)(a)(i)(A) support and track a student's progress and access to and completion of school curriculum; and
(1)(a)(i)(B) support students by prompting, redirecting, encouraging, and reinforcing positive behaviors;
(1)(a)(ii) is not certified or licensed in mental health; and
(1)(a)(iii) meets the professional qualifications as defined by state board rule.
(1)(b) "Qualifying personnel" means a school counselor or other counselor, a school psychologist or other psychologist, a school social worker or other social worker, or a school nurse who:
(1)(b)(i) is licensed; and
(1)(b)(ii) collaborates with educators and a student's
