(1)As used in this section:

(1)(a) "Compliance issue" means a violation of a school safety requirement under:

(1)(a)(i) this chapter; or

(1)(a)(ii) rules established in accordance with this chapter.

(1)(b) "Tiered system of support" means an escalating system of:

(1)(b)(i) technical assistance;

(1)(b)(ii) intervention; and

(1)(b)(iii) corrective action.

(2)The state security chief shall, in collaboration with the School Safety Center:

(2)(a) establish a tiered system of support for a compliance issue;

(2)(b) develop implementation procedures for the system; and

(2)(c) define criteria for:

(2)(c)(i) evaluating a compliance issue;

(2)(c)(ii) assigning an appropriate tier; and

(2)(c)(iii) monitoring progress.

(3)In establishing the system under Subsection (2), the state security chief and

(2)(c)(ii) assigning an appropriate tier; and
(2)(c)(iii) monitoring progress.
(3) In establishing the system under Subsection (2), the state security chief and School Safety Center shall consider:
(3)(a) severity of the compliance issue;
(3)(b) risk to student and staff safety;
(3)(c) available technical assistance resources;
(3)(d) local education agency capacity; and
(3)(e) required corrective action timelines.
