§ 53-22-105 — School guardian program.

(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) "Annual training" means an annual four-hour training that:
(1)(a)(i) a county security chief or a designee administers in coordination with personnel from local law enforcement of relevant jurisdiction as described in Section 53-25-701(2)(b);
(1)(a)(ii) the state security chief approves;
(1)(a)(iii) can be tailored to local needs;
(1)(a)(iv) allows an individual to practice and demonstrate firearms proficiency at a firearms range using the firearm the individual carries for self defense and defense of others;
(1)(a)(v) includes the following components:
(1)(a)(v)(A) firearm safety, including safe storage of a firearm;
(1)(a)(v)(B) de-escalation tactics;
(1)(a)(v)(C) the role of mental health in incidents; and
(1)(a)(v)(D) disability awareness and interac
