Text

(1)A small producer shall package the small producer's eggs in clean packaging that bears a label with the following information:
(1)(a) the common name of the food, "eggs";
(1)(b) the quantity or number of eggs;
(1)(c) the name and address of the small producer;
(1)(d) the statement "Keep Refrigerated"; and
(1)(e) the statement "SAFE HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: To prevent illness from bacteria: Keep eggs refrigerated, cook eggs until yolks are firm, and cook foods containing eggs thoroughly."
(2)(2)(a) A small producer shall label the small producer's eggs that are sold in a grocery store with a statement that the eggs:
(2)(a)(i) are exempt from 21 C.F.R. Chapter 1, Part 118, Production, Storage, and Transportation of Shell Eggs; and
(2)(a)(ii) are not from an inspected source.
