Text
(1)The state veterinarian shall:
(1)(a) coordinate the department's responsibilities for:
(1)(a)(i) the promotion of animal health; and
(1)(a)(ii) the diagnosis, surveillance, and prevention of animal disease;
(1)(b) aid the meat inspection manager, whose duties are specified by the commissioner, in the direction of the inspection of meat and poultry; and
(1)(c) perform other official duties assigned by the commissioner.
(2)The state veterinarian shall be a veterinarian licensed under Title 58, Chapter 28, Veterinary Practice Act.
