Text
(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) "Elected official" means:
(1)(a)(i) a member of the Legislature;
(1)(a)(ii) a member of the legislative body of a local government;
(1)(a)(iii) a member of a board of education; or
(1)(a)(iv) the mayor of a city, town, or metro township.
(1)(b) "Elected official" includes a person who is appointed to fill a vacancy in the office of an elected official described in Subsection (1)(a).
(2)A person may not communicate with an elected official's employer with the intent to influence, coerce, or intimidate the elected official's action on a vote or another official act.
