Text

(1)(1)(a) The board of directors of the association shall consist of:
(1)(a)(i) at least seven but not more than eleven member insurers who:
(1)(a)(i)(A) serve terms as established in the plan of operation; and
(1)(a)(i)(B) are selected by member insurers, subject to the approval of the commissioner; and
(1)(a)(ii) two public representatives appointed by the commissioner.
(1)(b) (1)(b)(i) The commissioner shall make the appointment of a public representative coincide with the association's annual meeting at which the association's board of directors is elected.
(1)(b)(ii) A public representative may not be:
(1)(b)(ii)(A) an officer, director, or employee of an insurer; or
(1)(b)(ii)(B) a person engaged in the business of insurance.
(1)(b)(iii) A public representative shall serve a term
