§ 31A-19a-101 — Title -- Scope and purposes.

(1)This chapter is known as the "Utah Rate Regulation Act."
(2)(2)(a) (2)(a)(i) Except as provided in Subsection (2)(a)(ii), this chapter applies to all kinds and lines of direct insurance written on risks or operations in this state by an insurer authorized to do business in this state.
(2)(a)(ii) This chapter does not apply to:
(2)(a)(ii)(A) life insurance;
(2)(a)(ii)(B) credit life insurance;
(2)(a)(ii)(C) variable and fixed annuities;
(2)(a)(ii)(D) health and accident and health insurance;
(2)(a)(ii)(E) credit accident and health insurance; and
(2)(a)(ii)(F) reinsurance.
(2)(b) This chapter applies to all insurers authorized to do any line of business, except those specified in Subsection (2)(a)(ii).
