§ 26B-3-1114 — Investigations -- Civil investigative demands.

(1)The attorney general may take investigative action under Subsection (2) if the attorney general has reason to believe that:
(1)(a) a person has information or custody or control of documentary material relevant to the subject matter of an investigation of an alleged violation of this part;
(1)(b) a person is committing, has committed, or is about to commit a violation of this part; or
(1)(c) it is in the public interest to conduct an investigation to ascertain whether or not a person is committing, has committed, or is about to commit a violation of this part.
(2)In taking investigative action, the attorney general may:
(2)(a) require the person to file on a prescribed form a statement in writing, under oath or affirmation describing:
