Text

(1)A person may not:
(1)(a) import into or export from the state a species of live native or exotic wildlife; or
(1)(b) possess or release from captivity imported live wildlife described in Subsection (1)(a).
(2)Notwithstanding Subsection (1), a person may engage in an act described in Subsection (1) if:
(2)(a) provided for in this title or the rules made by the Wildlife Board in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and
(2)(b) the person first secures written permission from the division.
(3)A person who violates this section is subject to the penalty provided in Section 23A-5-301.
