§ 17-78-702 — Purposes of transient room tax and expenditure of revenue -- Purchase or lease of facilities -- Mitigating impacts of recreation, tourism, or conventions -- Issuance of bonds.

(1)Subject to the requirements of this section, a county legislative body may impose the transient room tax for a purpose described in Subsection (2).
(2)A county legislative body may expend revenue generated by the transient room tax imposed under this section only:
(2)(a) for the purpose of establishing and promoting:
(2)(a)(i) tourism;
(2)(a)(ii) recreation;
(2)(a)(iii) film production; or
(2)(a)(iv) conventions;
(2)(b) to pay for tourism- or recreation-related facilities in the county, including acquiring, leasing, constructing, furnishing, maintaining, or operating:
(2)(b)(i) convention meeting rooms;
(2)(b)(ii) exhibit halls;
(2)(b)(iii) visitor information centers;
(2)(b)(iv) museums;
(2)(b)(v) sports and recreation facilities including practice fields, stadiums, arenas, and trail
