Text
(1)Except as specifically otherwise provided by law, the sheriff shall, without fee, serve and return all process in criminal cases to which the state is a party and that are lawfully issued by any court of the state.
(2)(2)(a) If the process issues from a court outside of the sheriff's county, the sheriff is entitled to the sheriff's actual expenses necessarily incurred.
(2)(b) The expenses shall be paid by the county where the process was issued.
