Text

(1)Upon presentation, the county recorder shall:
(1)(a) record, free of charge:
(1)(a)(i) discharges from the United States military, naval, or marine service; and
(1)(a)(ii) orders, citations, and decorations of honor relating to an individual while the individual was in the United States military, naval, or marine service; and
(1)(b) give, free of charge, certified copies of a record described in Subsection (1) to:
(1)(b)(i) the individual who is the subject of the record; and
(1)(b)(ii) a father, mother, brother, sister, or lineal descendant of the individual who is the subject of the record.
(2)Certified copies of records kept by the county recorder may be read in evidence with the same effect as the original in an action or proceeding before a court, commission, or other tribunal
