Text

As used in this chapter:

(1)(1)(a) "Cause to be copied" means to distribute or transfer computer software, or any component of computer software.
(1)(b) "Cause to be copied" does not include providing:
(1)(b)(i) transmission, routing, intermediate temporary storage, or caching of software;
(1)(b)(ii) a storage or hosting medium, such as a compact disk, website, or computer server through which the software was distributed by a third party; or
(1)(b)(iii) an information location tool, such as a directory, index, reference, pointer, or hypertext link, through which the user of the computer located the software.
(2)(2)(a) "Computer software" means a sequence of instructions written in any programming language that is executed on a computer.
(2)(b) "Computer software" does not include a data
