Sec. 56.807. GOVERNING CONSOLIDATED DISTRICTS; ELECTION OF DIRECTORS.

(a)When two or more districts are consolidated, they become one district and are governed as one district.
(b)Until the directors of the consolidated district are elected and qualify, the directors of each district shall continue to act jointly as directors of the consolidated district. A vacancy on the joint boards occurring before the permanent directors of the consolidated district are elected may not be filled unless the number of members on the joint board is three or fewer. If the number of members on the joint board is reduced to three or fewer, the consolidated district shall be governed by three directors.
