Sec. 55.107. OPTIONAL CONVERSION TO STAGGERED TERMS.

(a)The board, by resolution adopted before December 1 of any year on the vote of at least four directors, may adopt the system of staggered two-year terms of office as provided by this section.
(b)On the first available election date as provided by Article 2.01b of Vernon's Texas Election Code in the first even-numbered year immediately succeeding adoption of the resolution, five directors shall be elected. Of the five elected, the two receiving the fewest votes shall serve for two years and the other three shall serve for four years. However, if the vote is such that two of them do not receive fewer votes than the other three, then the directors shall determine by lot which two will serve two years and which three will serve four year
