Sec. 55.252. 900 SERVICE USED BY PROBATIONERS OR PAROLEES.

(a)This section applies only to a telecommunications utility that transports or provides an intrastate 900 service that is:
(1)covered by a contract authorized by Chapter 76 or 508 , Government Code; and
(2)used by a defendant under the supervision of a community supervision and corrections department or the parole division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to:
(A)pay a fee or cost; or
(B)comply with telephone reporting requirements.
(b)A telecommunications utility may adjust or authorize the adjustment of an end-user's bill for 900 service described by Subsection (a) only with the consent of the contracting community supervision and corrections department or the contracting parole division of the Texas Department o
