Sec. 52.205. INVESTIGATION OF COMPETITION.
(a)On request of an incumbent local exchange company or holder of a certificate of operating authority who is a dominant carrier made in conjunction with an application under this subchapter, the commission shall investigate to determine the effect and scope of competition in the geographic and service markets at issue.
(b)The commission has the power necessary and convenient to conduct the investigation. In conducting an investigation, the commission may:
(1)hold a hearing;
(2)issue a subpoena to compel the attendance of a witness and the production of a document; and
(3)make findings of fact and decisions with respect to the markets.
