Sec. 644.203. SIGNS.
(a)The Texas Department of Transportation shall provide signs for a designated route under Section 644.202 (c) over a road or highway that is not part of the state highway system. Notwithstanding Section 222.001 , the Texas Department of Transportation may use money in the state highway fund to pay for the signs.
(b)The political subdivision that maintains the road or highway shall bear the costs for installation and maintenance of the signs.
