Sec. 1109.203. GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION.

(a)The district may issue general obligation bonds only if the bonds are authorized by a majority of the district voters voting at an election held in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1251 , Government Code, relating to county bonds.
(b)The commissioners court:
(1)may call the election on its own motion; or
(2)shall call the election at the request of the board.
(c)The cost of the bond election is a charge on the district, and the district must provide for the payment of the bond election costs before the commissioners court is required to order an election.
