Sec. 51.405. CONTINUING EDUCATION.

(a)The department shall recognize, prepare, or administer continuing education programs for license holders. A license holder must participate in the programs to the extent required by the commission to keep the person's license.
(b)Notwithstanding other law, the commission by rule may:
(1)establish a minimum number of hours of continuing education required for license renewal;
(2)provide for the registration and renewal of continuing education providers and the approval of continuing education courses; and
(3)assess reasonable and necessary fees on continuing education providers.
(c)In adopting rules under this section for a program regulated by the department, the commission shall consult, if applicable, with the advisory board established for the
