Sec. 284.253. EFFECT ON PROVIDERS OF CABLE SERVICES OR VIDEO SERVICES.

(a)An approval for the installation, placement, maintenance, or operation of a network node or transport facility under this chapter may not be construed to confer authorization to provide:
(1)cable service or video service without complying with all terms of Chapter 66 , Utilities Code; or
(2)information service as defined by 47 U.S.C. Section 153(24), or telecommunications service as defined by 47 U.S.C. Section 153(53), in the public right-of-way.
(b)Except as provided by this chapter, a municipality may not adopt or enforce any regulations or requirements that would require a wireless service provider, or its affiliate, that holds a cable or video franchise under Chapter 66 , Utilities Code, to obtain any additi
