Sec. 534.020. ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF PROPERTY AND FACILITIES BY COMMUNITY CENTER.
(a)A community center may purchase or lease-purchase real and personal property and may construct buildings and facilities.
(b)The board of trustees shall require that an appraiser certified by the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board conduct an independent appraisal of real estate the community center intends to purchase. The board of trustees may waive this requirement if the purchase price is less than the value listed for the property by the local appraisal district and the property has been appraised by the local appraisal district within the preceding two years.
