Sec. 40.0527. PUBLIC AWARENESS.

(a)Subject to the availability of funds, the executive commissioner by rule shall develop and the department shall implement a statewide public awareness campaign designed to educate the public regarding the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly persons and persons with disabilities.
(b)The department may use mass communications media, the Internet, publications, or other means of public education in conducting the campaign.
(c)A public awareness strategy implemented for the program must include:
(1)the provision of information on the incidence and types of reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly persons or persons with disabilities; and
(2)practices that can reduce the incidences of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly perso
