Sec. 854.409. MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF RETIREES.

(a)The retirement system may require, by written request, a disability retiree under this subchapter who is younger than 60 years of age to undergo a medical examination and provide current medical and other relevant information reaffirming the status of the retiree as meeting the requirements for certification of occupational disability under Section 854.407 (b). The retirement system or medical board may designate a physician to perform the examination. The retiree shall pay the cost of the examination, unless the director, at the director's discretion, waives that requirement and has the retirement system pay the cost of the examination.
