Sec. 76.014. ASSESSMENT AND ENHANCEMENT OF DEFENDANT'S EDUCATIONAL SKILLS.

(a)A department, with the assistance of the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas Workforce Investment Council, local workforce development boards, and other appropriate public and private entities, may establish a developmental program for a defendant under the supervision of the department on the basis of information obtained in the presentence investigation report prepared for the defendant.
(b)The developmental program may provide the defendant with the educational and vocational training necessary to:
(1)meet the average skill level of students who have completed the sixth grade in public schools in this state; and
(2)maintain employment while under the supervision of the department, to lessen the likelihoo
