Sec. 508.319. PROGRAM TO ASSESS AND ENHANCE EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS.

(a)The department, with the assistance of public school districts, community and public junior colleges, public and private institutions of higher education, and other appropriate public and private entities, may establish a developmental program based on information obtained under Section 508.183 for an inmate to be released to the supervision of the division.
(b)The developmental program may provide the inmate with the educational and vocational training necessary to:
(1)meet the average skill level required under Section 508.183 ; and
(2)acquire employment while in the custody of the division to lessen the likelihood that the inmate will return to the institutional division.
(c)To decrease state expense
