Sec. 481.024. TEXAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.

(a)The Texas Economic Development Corporation on behalf of the state shall carry out the public purposes of this chapter. The creation of the corporation does not limit or impair the rights, powers, and duties of the office provided by this chapter. The corporate existence of the Texas Economic Development Corporation begins on the issuance of a certificate of incorporation by the secretary of state. The governor shall appoint the board of directors of the corporation. The governor or the governor's designee and the executive director serve as nonvoting, ex officio members of the board. The corporation has the powers and is subject to the limitations provided for the office by this chapter in carrying out the public purposes of this ch
