Sec. 404.062. UNDETERMINED REMITTANCES.
(a)This subsection applies to money the status of which is undetermined or that is awaiting the time when it can be taken into the treasury. The money shall be placed with the comptroller and credited to the suspense account. The comptroller shall maintain information about the deposit of funds into the suspense account in accordance with Section 403.052 .
(b)When the status of money placed in the suspense account is determined, the money shall be transferred from the suspense account by placing the portion of it belonging to the state in the appropriate fund in the treasury, and the part not belonging to the state shall be refunded. The refund shall be made either to the payor of the money or to the payor's estate, assignee, devisee, or other succ
