Sec. 49.251. AGREEMENT. The board of trustees of two or more school districts may execute an agreement to conduct an election on the creation of a consolidated taxing district for the maintenance and operation of the component school districts. The agreement is subject to approval by the commissioner. The agreement is not effective unless the commissioner certifies that the consolidated taxing district will have a local revenue level equal to or less than the level established under Section 48.257 after all actions taken under this chapter.
