For expiration of this section, see Subsection (c). Sec. 39.0511. WAIVER REQUEST FOR CERTAIN FEDERAL ACCOUNTABILITY-RELATED REQUIREMENTS.

(a)This section applies to a school district campus in which at least 90 percent of the students have been identified as having a significant cognitive disability and receive special education services under Subchapter A , Chapter 29 .
(b)Not later than January 1, 2026, the commissioner shall apply to the United States Department of Education for a waiver of requirements under the Every Student Succeeds Act (20 U.S.C. Section 6301 et seq.) related to the rate of participation in the assessment program and high school graduation rates for each school district campus to which this section applies.
(c)This section expires September 1, 2027.
