Sec. 21.354. APPRAISAL OF CERTAIN ADMINISTRATORS.

(a)The commissioner shall adopt a recommended appraisal process and criteria on which to appraise the performance of various classifications of school administrators. The criteria must be based on job-related performance. (a-1) This section does not apply to the appraisal of the performance of a principal.
(b)The commissioner may solicit and consider the advice of teachers and administrators in developing the appraisal process and performance criteria.
(c)Each school district shall appraise each administrator annually using either:
(1)the commissioner's recommended appraisal process and performance criteria; or
(2)an appraisal process and performance criteria:
(A)developed by the district in consultation with the district- and campus-
