Sec. 21.04421. TRADITIONAL TEACHER PREPARATION.

(a)In proposing rules under this subchapter regarding training requirements for a candidate seeking certification through a traditional teacher preparation route in which a candidate may concurrently receive an undergraduate or master's degree and a certification to teach a subject area at a particular grade level, the board shall require the candidate to complete substantial preservice practice in a prekindergarten through grade 12 classroom.
(b)The rules proposed under Subsection (a) must require training to be provided synchronously. The board may approve components of the training to be delivered asynchronously on application by an educator preparation program.
