Art. 56B.256. COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT.

(a)The amount of a payment under Article 56B.254 is subject to an annual cost-of-living adjustment calculated by the attorney general.
(b)The attorney general shall calculate the amount of the cost-of-living adjustment by multiplying the amount of the annual payment received by the peace officer under this subchapter during the preceding year by the percentage by which the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Labor, or its successor index, increased during the preceding calendar year.
