Art. 19A.256. REFERRAL TO GRAND JURY IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES.

(a)If a district judge becomes aware that sexual assault within the jurisdiction of the court has probably been committed, the judge shall direct the grand jury to investigate the accusation:
(1)immediately, if the court is in session; or
(2)at the next term of a district court in any county of the district, if the court is not in session.
(b)If the court is in session but the grand jury has been discharged, the district judge shall immediately recall the grand jury to investigate the accusation. SUBCHAPTER G. BAILIFFS
