§ 69-6-109 — Election notice

(a) The president and secretary shall cause a notice of the special election to be published for three (3) consecutive weeks in some newspaper of general circulation within the proposed district, the first publication to be not less than twenty-one (21) days prior to such election. If the proposed district lies in more than one (1) county, then a similar notice shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in each of the counties in which a part of the proposed district is located. (b) The election notice shall set forth the time and place or places of holding the election, the proposal to be voted on, and the purposes for which the proposed district is to be created. The following proposition to be voted on shall be set forth in such notice: Q. Shall the board of directors proceed with the creation of the proposed watershed district in accordance with the Watershed District Act of 1955? (c) The notice shall be signed by the president and attested to by the secretary of the board.
