§ 68-5-110 — Information on pertussis vaccine

In accordance with the latest recommendations of the advisory committee on immunization practices of the centers for disease control and prevention, during the postpartum period and prior to discharge, each hospital shall provide parents of newborns educational information on pertussis disease and the availability of a vaccine to protect against pertussis. This educational information shall include, but is not limited to, information on the center for disease control and prevention's recommendation that parents and caregivers receive Tdap during the postpartum period to protect their newborns from the transmission of pertussis. Nothing in this section shall require any hospital to provide or pay for any vaccination against pertussis. This section also shall not constitute a requirement to
