§ 68-29-110 — Schools for training laboratory personnel - Application fees

(a) The board shall approve medical laboratories or medical laboratory training facilities to operate schools for training laboratory personnel and to employ medical laboratory trainees for training purposes, upon presentation of satisfactory evidence that such laboratories are staffed by qualified personnel and properly equipped and operated to provide training in medical laboratory techniques adequate to prepare individuals to meet the requirements for licensure under this chapter. (b) No person shall conduct, maintain or operate a school or schools for the training of laboratory personnel unless approved by the board. All schools that train medical laboratory personnel shall make application for a certificate of approval on forms provided by the board. A fee, in the form of a check or money order, shall accompany the application. Such fee, not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200), will be determined annually by the board. Approval of the school shall be valid for the year for which it is issued. Each certificate of approval shall be renewed on January 1 of each year, by making application on forms provided by the board and the remittance of a fee of one hundred dollars ($100).
