§ 68-11-1809 — Disclosure of medical or other health care information - Compulsory time frame for provision of records

(a)Unless otherwise specified in an advance directive, a person then authorized to make health care decisions for a patient has the same rights as the patient to request, receive, examine, copy, and consent to the disclosure of medical or any other health care information.
(b)A health care provider shall provide to a patient or a patient's authorized representative a copy of such patient's medical records within ten (10) working days of receipt of a written request by the patient or the patient's authorized representative. The health care provider may provide a summary of such patient's medical records, at the option of the health care provider, but the provision of a summary does not satisfy the patient's or representative's right to receive, or serve as a substitute for, a full medical
