(a)As used in this section, "firearm injury" means serious bodily injury or death inflicted upon an individual as a result of the discharge of a firearm by the individual or by another person.
(b)By August 1, 2025, and by each August 1 thereafter, the department of health shall submit an annual report to the governor stating the total number of firearm injuries and deaths caused by firearms in this state per one hundred thousand (100,000) people that have occurred in the previous calendar year. The report must include, at a minimum, the following information, if available:
(1)The county in which each injury or death occurred;
(2)Demographic information about each individual who suffered a firearm injury or death; and (3) The cause of each injury or death as indicated in the death certi
