(a)The board shall subject all applicants to an examination in the subjects of diagnosis, surgery, gynecology, obstetrics and such other subjects as the board may require. The board may, in its discretion, conduct its own written examination or administer a national examination.
(b)(1) The board may, in its discretion, dispense with an examination in the case of an osteopathic physician duly licensed to practice osteopathic medicine in any other state or territory of the United States or in the District of Columbia, if the applicant has met the same or equivalent educational standards required by the state of Tennessee, and shall present a certificate of examination and registration by the legally constituted board of such other state or district or a certificate issued by the national b
