(a)There shall be a board of osteopathic examination, referred to as "board" in this chapter, consisting of six (6) persons, appointed by the governor. One (1) of these persons shall be a citizen member who does not engage in any profession, business or activity subject to regulation by the board, and five (5) members shall be osteopathic physicians. These persons shall be residents of this state; and the five (5) osteopathic physician members shall be graduates of a legally chartered osteopathic college in good standing and having the power to confer degrees in osteopathic medicine and shall have been, at the time of their appointment, actively engaged in the practice of their profession for a period of at least five (5) years.
