(a)Upon July 1, 1995, any person who is a trainee, apprentice or who has entered into a training program to become a licensed hearing aid dispenser shall be eligible to receive a license as a hearing instrument specialist; provided, that such person complies with all of the requirements of chapter 15 of this title [repealed], as it existed upon July 1, 1995.
(b)Upon July 1, 1995, any person who is a licensed hearing aid dispenser shall be eligible to receive a license as a hearing instrument specialist. Any person who is a licensed hearing aid dispenser upon July 1, 1995, who wishes to obtain a license as a hearing instrument specialist shall submit a request to the council to receive the appropriate license as a hearing instrument specialist.
