Text
(a)This part shall not be construed to prevent any person who is a physician licensed to practice by the board of medical examiners from treating or fitting hearing instruments to the human ear.
(b)It is lawful for any person, who meets the requirements of §§ 63-17-205 and 63-17-207 and, who is listed as an apprentice licensee applicant with the council and who is under the direct supervision of a sponsoring licensed hearing instrument specialist to perform any of the services or acts included in the definition of hearing instrument dispensing and fitting as contained in this part; provided, that such person does so under the direct supervision of the licensed hearing instrument specialist and with the licensed dispenser making final selection and fitting to the client.
