§ 55-6-101 — Fees due department for specified services

(a)The following fees are due to the department of revenue with regard to services pertaining to the titling and registration of motor vehicles:
(1)For issuing a certificate of title there shall be collected, in addition to the registration fee, a sum of five dollars and fifty cents ($5.50). The revenue generated from one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) of this fee shall be earmarked for the purpose of paying the principal and interest on bonds issued pursuant to chapter 1028 of the Public Acts of 1992. Any funds in excess of the amount necessary to pay the principal and interest shall be earmarked for the purposes of capital projects at state parks.
