Text

A motor vehicle dealer's license shall not be required for a person to sell motor vehicles to licensed automotive dismantlers and recyclers, as defined in § 55-17-102 , or to registered scrap metal dealers or scrap metal processors, if:

(1)The motor vehicle has been designated by the seller as a nonrepairable vehicle, whether or not such vehicle has been issued a nonrepairable vehicle certificate; and (2) The motor vehicle is being sold solely for recycling, dismantling, or scrap.
